Possible infected injection area?

Possible infected injection area?

I went to the dentist on Thursday for 2 of 3 visits for my crown. After numbing me, my dentist began and after realizing I could still feel her working she decided to numb me again. This time, I believe she chose to numb me in my lower cheek, right next to my teeth. Having been sore from the injections before, the following morning I had pain in that area and blew it off assuming it would vanish. However, today now being Monday I have 3 sores, possibly cold sores in that area. Is it possible this is where she decided to inject me and I now have an infection? Or, have I just oddly formed these cold sores at the same time? Personally, they do not look like a cold sore I usually get and in addition I've never gotten one in this area. Additionally, they themselves almost look like little cuts within my mouth. Thoughts?

It sounds like she went around the gum itself to numb you. Rinse with warm salty water.

I've done this. The area is just horribly sore and look pretty infected. I'm pretty sure it's from the injection, but I'm afraid to go in and allow her to see them if they are truly cold sores. I do get sold sores here and there, but my gut is telling me these aren't. My mom is surprised she chose the lower cheek area near my gums as an injection site, but as I stated before, the first round I could still feel her working so there had to be a plan B.
