Pregnant and Bleeding Gums...

I am 19 wks pregnant and my gums have started bleeding while brushing and flossing.  I have very healthy teeth and never bleed.  I was told that PerioMed can help with bleeding.  Can I use it while pregnant?  Or do you have any other suggestions??  Thanks...

Pregnancy gingivitis is fairly common--I think you need to be extra diligent in brushing and flossing and make some exra visits to the dentist for cleaning.I would prefer you did not take anything long term. Have a healthy and happy baby!

you need to ask your OBGYN what you can and cannot use while pregnant. Hormonal changes cause this gum problem, and you are right in that it needs to be addressed. Talk to your OBGYN about this. Most likely you will be advised to see a dentist, and have your teeth cleaned often during the pregnancy. YOu will also most lkely be instructed to brush and FLOSS more frequently.
