Purple roof / oral ulcers

Purple roof / oral ulcers

Hello, for the past two years, I constantly have oral ulcers through out my mouth. (which are extremely painful). I've gone to the doctors and they've told me it is genetic, and that I would have to live/deal with the pain.
Although, I've also noticed the roof of my mouth is purple. Which, I do not have any pain, although it bothers me knowing it's not the normal coloring.
Since, I've received no re assurance from my doctor - I would like to see if someone out there can help me. This is also accompanied with a chronic cough.

Hopefully, someone can relate and share their thoughts.

I would be curious to know if the doctor has given a name to these ulcers.Canker sores? There is a steriod ointment Kenalog in orabase which is very effective in reducing the discomfort. It does not cure the lesion but certainly makes it bearable. It is a prescription item.An opinion from an oral pathologist would be a good idea. These doctors can be located in teaching hospitals and dental schools.
