Root Canal on abscessed tooth drainage normal?

by grfhbbrd, Mar 07, 2007 12:00AM
I had a root canal on an abscessed tooth Monday.  Today I woke up and the tooth is draining pus.  Is this normal?  I am on a pretty strong antibiotic and am going to have my tooth restored in a couple days.  But now I'm concerned about this drainage.

It is not appropriate to restore the tooth if there is still purulence present.

i would not have the tooth restored until there is no evidene of infection whatsoever. see your dentist or n endodontist about the drainage. perhaps you need a different antbiotic or perhaps the root canal s not successful
