Root canal by regular dentist?

My dentist did veneers on me last week.  When I got my temporaries, I realized that my teeth in the front hurt... a lot.  Now that I have the permenant veneers, I found that it is # 8 that feels like it needs a root canal. I cannot bite and hot, cold, sour, sweet, and rinsing my mouth with salt water hurts, and flossing and brushing are almost impossible to take because of the pain. It also just hurts when I'm not doing anything.  I have been taking advil for two months while waiting for the permant veneers, and now since I have the permenant veneers for a week. Is this normal for veneers?  Did the Dr. cause this?  He says he does everything "in-house" and that he can do the root canal on me.  Would you let him do it or should I go to an endodontist?  Are the front teeth harder to do than the back teeth?  What do I need to worry about.  What should I ask....Please advise.  I'm going there tomorrow.  But, I may not let him do anything until I decide what is best, however, I would like to do it asap.
Thank you.

Occlusion may cause pulpitis.Your dental sumptom may come from occlusion. Adjustment of occlusin is essential. Vitality test of pulp is indicated if you need a root canal or not.

Thank you.  It feels a little better now.  do you think I might have a full recovery with no root canal?

Root canal treatment of anterior teeth are generally much easier to do than molars. Quality of root canal treatment performed by an endodontist is generally better than that done by a general practitioner.
