Same day dentures

Same day dentures

I had teeth extracted 2 days ago, and recieved same day dentures. The problem is that when I eat the dentures shift and cause pain when I try to chew. Is it too soon for me to use a dental adhesive?

I would give it some more time (up to a week depending on how large the sockets are) to allow the sockets to close and heal up some more.  It would be pretty difficult to remove the adhesive if it were stuck in a socket.  I'm not sure how fast the adhesive would degrade in the mouth without wiping it.  I'm sure its not a bad thing but having something sticky inside the socket and then sticking to food doesn't sound good either.

The same day dentures are only temporary and disposable, your mouth should be ready for permanent dentures after about 6 months. What I did in the meantime, was buy a grinding tool kit at Harbor Tools and made my own adjustments every time I had pain. It got me thru the 6 months without running to the dentist every day, the dentist didn't mind.
