Sensation in teeth after root canal

by Sonika, Sep 12, 2005 12:00AM
Six months ago I have had a root canal of my upper teeth at the back. It was all fine till now, but since last 2 weeks I feel some sensation in that region. When I press on my gum above where I had the root canal, there is a strange feeling. Not pain really, but its hard to describe.
Doesn't root canal gurantee that there would be no problem with that teeth in future? Atleast this is what my dentist said!! Technically if they removed all of the root, I should have had no problems???

Root canal treatment has a high percentage of success rates. This does not in anyway guarantee that you might have problems in the future. The condition of the nerve at the time of the RCT is a determining factor. Whether the  was an infection or not is an important factor. I would suggest you see the dentist for a exam.
