Sensitive teeth and burning mouth feeling

by Lou502, Jun 04, 2009 04:48PM
I am a 47 year old woman.  I have not gone into menopause.  About 6 months ago I had a bad sore  throat.  It went away in 5 days.  Then my mouth started to feel like I just ate spicy foods. Burning and driving my tongue crasy.  It is better at night and then as the day goes on the burning  increases in sensitivity.  In the later afternoon, my mouth feels on fire and my teeth feel very sensitive.  Sometimes it is around my gums, the roof of my mouth, or on my tongue.  It moves from day to day.  I see nothing visable when I look . O went to the dentist and he did not see anything.   I suck lonsengers all the time to give me some relief..I have had 2 days with no symptoms, but it starts up again.  Who would treat this problem?  My dentist can't seem to help me.  I am trying to ignore it, but sometimes it gets the best of me.  Is this "burning Mouth Syndropm?   Please help....

Your presentations appear to suggest burning mouth syndrome or disorder. Seeing an orofacial pain specialist or oral medicine specialist is advised.
