Several extractions

I am going to get 11 teeth extracted and I am afraid unfortunately  I will be fully awake because I can not afford to pay for anesthesia...My question is...are they allowed to extract that many teeth at one time?...is there a dangerous risk behind it?...or is it just my nerves talking?

You should definitely voice your concerns with your dentist prior to treatment.  Depending on your health, removing 11 teeth should be fine.  You can always ask your medical doctor if he/she has any concerns as well with the extractions.  You will be numb so you won't feel any pain but you may feel heavy pressure during the process.

I don't know.  I guess if they are doing the procedure then it is within guidelines and within their limits.  You could always query it if you have concerns (or maybe it is just your fear speaking out).
There are always risks behind every procedure -be they minor or major ones.
I had my lower wisdom teeth out recently and other than the recovery (because I ended up with dry sockets and an infection) the most painful part was actually getting to the dentist.  I have an anxiety disorder and the anticipation is always worse than the event.
Just focus on one thing at a time.  Ground yourself in reality and you should be fine.
Perhaps the fear is more about your feelings for your teeth and what they mean to you?
You shouldn't feel any pain.  For me the worst part was the dentist circling the tooth around in order to get it out.  More because of the vibrations it was causing than anything else.
I think you should be fine.  Make sure you discuss any concerns with your dentist beforehand (not much use after they have numbed you and it is difficult to talk).

Good luck.  I hope all goes well.

Well, there is a large amount of change with your jaw after the extractions which occur.  The most rapid change occurs during the first 4-6 weeks.  Afterwards, there may be some need to adjust them or temporarily reline them until things stabilize.  As for the pre-aging look, that's a complex issue that needs to be addressed during the creation of your denture.  Its important to give your dentist feedback so he/she knows what concerns you have.  Once its processed and completed, its hard to undo anything.

Again, its important to discuss with your dentist your expectations of your treatment.  Good communication with your doctor will give you a better chance of getting exactly what you want.  6 weeks is reasonable.  Did he/she warn you that it may take up to 4-6 months for your jawbone to stabilize and that your denture may not fit initially after the first few months of healing and may need to be "relined?"

Pre-aging look?  With dentures, its a prosthetic so its important to talk to your dentist about your concerns as the dentures are made.  The color of your teeth, the placement of your teeth, fit of the denture, etc will all have an effect on your use and cosmetics of it.  Feel free to msg me here to follow up with any questions or concerns you may have.  Right now, its important to let the gums/bone heal so that the denture will fit better.  When does your dentist plan to start making them?

I will eventually get full upper dentures and I would like to know how can I avoid the pre- aging look. Please give me tips on what really works?

I was fully awake and didn't feel a thing - one had to be dug out of my gums
because it was broken off.  I, too, couldn't afford to be put asleep and was
terrified - but it was NOTHING.  Trust me.

My granddaughter just had 8 molars removed in prep. for braces - she did fine.
I just had 2 molars extracted and was in disbelief that there was NO pain after
the Novacaine wore off.  Amazing.   I have an anxiety disorder too - it's the worst
part.
Good luck and don't worry.  Follow post-op instructions!

4 to 6 months!...wow..really?...Thank you for the information...I will definitely discuss that with him on my next appointment. I am a very self conscience woman and I am glad you told me this..now I will prevent that pre-aging look by relining my dentures around that time.

I have not made an appointment yet for the impressions because I know I need time to heal...I guess in about 6 weeks or so I shall make an appointment  Allow to to share something I read somewhere in the internet about pre-aging  I actually saw the images of a few people who had this pre-aging problem due to the dentures not fitting  well.  I read that if it does not fit well eventually the patient will develop a look of pre-aging. But I guess you are right...I have to discuss every detail to make sure I get it to it's perfection.."satisfying for me"
I hope to get dentures with a natural enamel gloss.. I hope they do make them that way because ..I have seen some dentures dull and it is obvious to see that they wear  dentures...
