Severe pain and Pregnant. Please help or I'll go crazy

I had a root canal (the last bottom tooth) and a deep cavity filled ( a tooth next to the root canal one). I have severe pain for a week now. It does feel like the filling is too high on both teeth but it's hard to tell for sure- it hurts even to close my mouth. During the day the pain is bearable but at night time I can only cry- it hurts up to my ear and left side of the head (even the tooth itself doesn't hurt as much as my head). My problem is that I am breastfeeding and pregnant. Can't take any meds and do an X-ray. I'm gonna go crazy if this pain won't go away. The dentist said it might be the filling was too close to the nerve because of the deep cavity and I would need a root canal done instead of that filling. Is she right?

Or u might have an infection.  There are meds u can take that are safe for pregnancy and bf.(I am also a bf mom)  You can take over the counter Tylenol for now until u can get back to the dentist. Also warm moist compresses. Its possible u need a root canal.  The dentist can
give you vicodin and amoxicilian both are safe to take.  Good luck.
