Should I see the dentist again about this abscess?

I recently went to the dentist because of pain in between my gum and an abscess forming below. He did an xray and found no tooth damage. He found that I needed a root canal two teeth back. It is still incredibly painful in between my teeth and there is incredible pressure below my tooth where the abscess is forming. Should I go to the doctor again? The pus has not started draining in it despite attempts with salt water, tea bags and hydrogen peroxide to draw it out. I am on antibiotics and it isn't helping.
