Sick mouth for two weeks...?

by EllieLynn, Sep 27, 2008 12:03PM
I've had a sore throat with bumps in my throat and enlarged bumps on the back of my tongue for almost two weeks now. Earlier this week, I started getting a white film on the back part of my tongue which has worsened and become thicker. It goes away when I brush my tongue and I have found that it doeesnt really come back until I eat. Now the taste buds on the tip of my tongue have become sensitive and started to turn a brighter red. I also have had a small white patch on the roof of my mouth. My GP looked at me about a week ago and said I was fine. A test for Mono came back negative. I'm wondering if I have thrush? Maybe there is something else? I feel a bit lost and more than a little nervous... Anyone have any ideas?

To: sick mouth
I had bumps on my throat and back of my tongue with the white coating on the back of the tongue.  My doctor said it was acid reflux.  The acid reflux is caused by a hiatal hernia (you can look that up).  So I take 2 anti acid pills a day.  No problems since.
