Sinus infection after implants

Sinus infection after implants

I had two implants (upper back teeth) done a week ago.  I have had a lot of pain since.  I went back to my periodontist today (3rd time since surgery).  He told me I have a sinus infection.  I have been taking antibiotics since the surgery.  How can I get an infection?  I am worried he got into my sinuses.  Any advice?  I have not slept well since the surgery (waking up in pain) .  I am going to see an endodontist tomorrow to check on a different tooth.  My perio wants to rule out a second infection although the x-ray looks OK.
