Smelly Breath/Dental floss

I'm having serious bad breath issues. It started about 4 years ago. I have a few fillings, 2 crowns, and a 3 tooth bridge. As a kid i loved candy hence the fillings and crowns. When ever i speak to people they are always putting their fingers near their nose (trying to block their nasal passage). Its really embarrassing. I have seen many dentists, periodontist, etc. I have been prescribed Tetracycline pills for 8 months (to clean out my blood), had deep cleaning and get my teeth cleaned twice a year. I Brush, Floss and rinse with ACT 2 to 3 times a day. I have to temporarily mask my breath with breath mints because gum does not work. but that last about 5 minutes and the bad breath comes back, but eating a box of Altoids within a few days also has caused more cavities for me. I've licked my wrist to see if my saliva smells but thats not it really. Whenever I floss in between my crowns thats where the smell comes from, it lingers on the floss and its really gross but the other teeth don't smell only the ones with the crowns. I've got one of my crowns replaced that helped for a few months and than the bad smell came back. Every dentist tells my that their is nothing wrong with me. I have no stomach problems. However my sister told her dentist of my situation and she said that crowns that are made of stainless steal with porcelain outer layer will over time cause bad breath. She recommended that I get my crowns redone but with gold metal (which is expensive). According to her dentist its the stainless steal that causes the bad breath over time. She has a few patients that she has given gold crowns to and they haven't had any problems with it. Is there any truth to this? I have spent so much money on my teeth and haven't seen any results that I'm really skeptical about getting gold crowns with an outer porcelain layer. Can anyone please HELP ME?? I'm only 3O and already thinking of getting dentures because I hate my teeth.

If you google halitosis(malodered breath), youwould be able to get detailed  information. However, Halitosis is generally brought about by the substance known as Volatile Sulfide  Compound, which is produced by oral bacteria.Cavities and periodontitis account for the bacterial source inmost cases. The material of crown is generally not associated with bacterial accumulation. The surface smoothness and contour of crown do have influence on bacterial retention.A member presented similar problem, and finally that turned out to be wisdom tooth, which was the culprit of halitosis. You may need to see a dentist again to get a thorough exam. There is device available on the market to measure the oder, it's probably called halitometer. If quantified measurement of  breath is within normal limits, You pmay not have halitosis.
