Split Tooth with Onlay and Root Canal

Split Tooth with Onlay and Root Canal

I am a male, 57 years old. My tooth 19 had a 3/4 onlay about 20 years ago and a root canal about two years ago. Now I have pain while chewing and there is a bit of tenderness just below the gum line. Regular dentist said the tooth is split and the treatment is extraction followed by bridge or implant. My question is whether there is any point consulting an endodontist or periodontist to see if the tooth can be saved? I am curious where the pain is coming from - infection of the surrounding bone? The pain is quite manageable. What is the downside to just trying to live with it? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

As you had route canal long back and that tooth is broken giving rise to infection in the route giving you trouble.

Now no option and extraction of the tooth is a must.

Get extraction done and have antibiotic course and you will become alright.
