Back on 7/22/07 this same topic was started by girlmovingtobos and daisyfay, I am having the identical problem in a crown that was put in during august. My dentist gave me peridex a few weeks ago to try to help but but this changed nothing. Was curious what they found?
Maybe a reaction to the metal in the crowns...however one post said they were empress crowns...so, there is no metal there. Or maybe a reaction to the cement...I don't think I've ever heard of either of these, but it could be that.
I have had my old crowns replaced with 8 Empress crowns, (6 weeks ago) you could see the metal margin on my old ones even though they were fine, but i thought i would treat myself. Since getting the new ones i have had to take painkillers every 3-4 hours, even through the night. My gums are all swollen and i keep salivating with the pain. I cant drink or eat hot and cold things, every thing has to be tepid. I cant even stand opening my mouth outside on a cold day.
My whole mouth, jaw and face hurts and i'm totally miserable. i feel like i'm never going to fell normal again. I have paid three and a half thousand pounds to feel miserable! I wish i had my old ones back in. I am going back to the dentist on monday and she is going to x-ray them, thats not going to help the pain i am in!
