Stretched tooth ligaments

So about 4 weeks ago I hit 3 of my front teeth pretty hard on my friends forehead. It was a complete freak accident. Anyway, I've been to the dentist twice in those 4 weeks because they are still sensitive. The only thing he was able to find both times is that my ligaments were stretched. There are no cracks in my teeth that he can see and he doesn't believe that's the case. He wants me to wait another two months to see if they can heal on their own. It's just become annoying that I can't bite in to anything and one of them is always in pain right above the tooth. Has anyone ever had stretched ligaments? If so, how long did your symptoms last?
