Suddently ten cavities ?!?!?!

Suddently ten cavities ?!?!?!

My daughter, who is 17 years old, had three cavities at about age 7 or 8 but none since. She goes to the dentist every six months to have her teeth cleaned and checked and has also received myriad fluoride treatments and sealants, only partially covered by insurance. Today at her six month check-up, I was informed that my daughter has ten cavities! Can this be possible? How? Should I have a second opinion? Please advise. Thank you!

i would get a second opinion. a small cavity can develop in six months but the odds of ten would be about the same as winning the lottery.
