Swollen gum around crown root
Hi, I had a new crown fitted in december and 2 months later I felt pressure under my gum which has now gone but it has continued to be swollen slightly.
I had antibiotics which made it slightly better.
The dentist thinks i have a metal allergy so im going to go to the doctors.
The problem is i had the new crown as i was unhappy with the grey shadow from my root shining through the gum, however now this has been covered but the metal touches the gum.
If i do have an allergy I will have to go back to the crown i previously had which means the grey will re-appear!!! any suggestions as to what cosmtic dentistry I can have to prevent this?????

Allergy to dental restorative material is extremely rare. Periodontal exam and checking out occlusion are advised.
