Swollen gums?

Swollen gums?

Hey guys er first of all around 4 - 5 days ago my lower left gum (towards the back - where the 1st molar and the one before it is) my 2nd molar hasn't fully grown yet (and i'm 18... lol)

Anyway, it first happened on the left side where it sort of swelled and was very tender so I couldn't chew on that side and it bled a little. And 2 days ago i felt my right side to be a little tender too and just now when i was showering I saw that on the right side, it was sort of like a pinkish colour and the texture at that area was kinda rough? (unlike the rest of the gum)

For both the left and right it extended all the way to where my 2nd molar was coming out (the gum on top of it was pale pink)

What could be the cause? Thanks

Edit: Oh now that I've showered that area on the right isn't rough anymore.

Hi,
You really should go and get those teeth checked by a dentist.  The teeth in question may have impaction issues and are causing infections in your gum.

Please make an appt. so that they can be xrayed.

Best to you,
Gellia

Hey thanks Gellia, yea I guess so my 2nd molar is still yet to come out and x-rays have shown (i used to wear braces am on retainers now) that my wisdom teeth are all impacted so they have to be extracted at a later stage.

Anyway, went to see the dentist and the dentist said it was a viral infection and gave me some antiseptic mouth wash said it would subside within a week or two. Thanks!
