Temporary Filling Pain.

Temporary Filling Pain.

i was supposed to get a root canal, and the dentist just gave me a temp. filling, he said i needed to wait another 6 months before i can get one. i have been dealing with this tooth for over two years, so i was a bit disapointed.
by the time i got home, the tooth was throbbing and was raised above the rest of my teeth, so i can't bite down :/
i can't sleep or eat anything, but the dentist says that my nerve is dead so they don't believe me about the pain, all i have is ibuprofen, which doesn't seem to help..any suggestions?
