Throbbing Pain after Root Canal and Apicoectomy

Throbbing Pain after Root Canal and Apicoectomy

I had root canal in May 09 for a shooting pain in my front tooth.  I still had it so they did a root canal on the tooth next to this one in July 09.  Still had shooting pain, constant aching pain and throbbing pain.  Endodonist realized my dentist did not finish filling of 2nd tooth.  Had that done in Dec. 09.  Then had Apicoectomy procedure done in January 10 on both teeth.  I am still having the throbbing pain every day.  Not sure if the sharp pain is gone for good or not since it only comes and goes at times.

I am so miserable with this pain after all this time.  What else could it be????  The specialist mentioned when I went to get my stitches out it might be sinus problem but this problem didn't start until I had the pain in my tooth and I feel it in my tooth and my tooth is still sensitive.  She didn't see a crack.  HELP!!!!

Your descriptions suggest non-odontogenous toothache. Seeing an orofacial pain specialist is advised.

Maybe your pain is due to more infection or the fact that the dentist did not finish filling on one tooth before the apiectomy..Tooth pain is annoying and becomes a challenge.  Always get a second opinion.
