To extract or not to extract

I have a cracket molar (upper right, third from the back) that my dentist says can be salvaged with a root canal and a crown. He also said the upper right wisdom tooth shows decay and should be pulled at some point. I do not have dental insurance and it will be difficult for me to afford the root canal and crown. What are the negatives of simply having this tooth (and eventually the wisdom tooth) extracted? Thanks!

If you just pull your molar, then you face the risk of bone loss in the area where your cracked molar is.  You also face the risk of shifting teeth.

If finances are a problem then you better get a partial denture to keep your teeth from shifting.
