Tongue issues and questions

Hello,

Two months ago, one a random afternoon I felt a tingling feeling on my tongue. It almost felt like when you have slightly burnt your tongue but not completely, as it did not hurt. Later that day, I noticed a few tiny white bumps that look almost like white head pimples or canker sores that flared up near the tip of my tongue. By the end of the night, I had at least a dozen little white bumps appearing on the sides and tip of my tongue. The tongue felt irritated but not sore.  

I then noticed my throat felt a bit scratchy. The throat did not hurt so I had no problem swallowing food and water but my lymph nodes were not swallowed or enlarged. This had lasted a little over two weeks and then they calmed down and they seemed to go away. Almost two weeks later, they begin to reappear but not necessarily in the same spots. Not as many bumps but the tongue was still feeling irritated and the throat still felt a bit scratchy. After a week, the symptoms went away again.

Two weeks past until 3 – 4 bumps flared up on the tip of tongue again leaving it feeling annoyed again with the throat scratchy again. The bumps have disappeared again though there was a small white spot near the tip of my tongue that did not look like a pimple but more of a white smudge. It was also a bit sore if I rubbed my tongue against my teeth. It looks to be gone now though my tongue is still just a little bit irritated.

I have washed my mouth out with over the counter mouth wash and warm salt water and I have seen a few doctors at a few walk-in clinics who all said it doesn’t look nor sound like something serious but I have been feeling quite frightened as of late over this. So frightened in fact that I had a blood test done last week to check for STD’s. I am still waiting to hear back about the results but my biggest fear is that it could be HIV. I do get the occasional cold sore on the side of my mouth from time to time as I have been getting them since I was a kid. Any ideas what this could be? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
