Upper first bicuspid extracted, dr wants to do a bridge

I am concerned about the appearance of this pontic (#12) after the area where the root of the extracted tooth has now "fallen". Will the gum grow back to surround the margins of the pontic? Do I need further surgery to correct this appearance?

It depends.  They should be getting ready to make your bridge soon so they can contour the bridge to fit your gum tissue appropriately.  If there is a significant drop in the gum height, they may need to do some grafting in the area

Extraction was done less than a month ago. Bridge has not yet been made. Future work in treatment plan.

When was the extraction and when was the bridge/pontic made?
