I have felt this for almost 7 months since right after the first tooth extraction. It was between tooth 4and 5 and I thought something was stuck up there initially. After all the dental work that led to the extraction thinking it was the tooth, and it wasn't. I can feel it like it is out in the open now.
There are no orofacial specialist in my area . I live in Pittsburgh, Pa. If you know of anyone that specializes in this area I would appreciate a recommendation.
I am feeling a crackling / pinchy sensation when pressure is placed by my tongue hitting there or anything that. Puts pressure on it. I do not have pain it is just debilitating due to it being constant and never stopping, except when I sleep. Every great while I feel it slide up into what I want to call the right place and I feel normal but it only lasts a minute or so.
The neurologists said the MRI is fine, no trigeminal neuralgia compressions, I did blood work today and also a cat scan that was orders by my ent. He thinks it is all in the socket where the tooth was and I agree. I think it is a nerve and it feels like it is hanging in the wrong place. The only other thing I can think of is if the bony structure between the sinus is damaged, because of the crackling sound. I am taking neurontin bu *** is such a low dose 300 mg twice a day, and it is not really helping although I just started it. 3 weeks ago. I wonder if a surgeon can clip this nerve without damage or numbness to my face. Do you have any knowledge in this area, or can you tell me your thoughts on what it sounds like to you. Thank you so very much. I am44 years old with two kids, I need to get my life back!
So exactly what are you feeling right now in this area? Pain, pressure, sensitivity to touch, etc? Did any of your x-rays, MRI's show anything at all?
Any course of antibiotics? Sinuses are okay?
