Upper wisdom extraction complications...and then some?

Hello! Thanks for taking time to read this. I'll try to summarize. A month ago I went to ER because of my problematic wisdom tooth being impacted. Migraines were a constant and I was always spitting blood. They said it wasnt crucial enough to call a surgeon to the room and sent me home with amoxocillyn. I made an emergency appt at a local dentist and it was about 2-3 weeks ago that they removed my upper (impacted) wisdom tooth along with the tooth in front because it had pushed so hard that it fractured the tooth and caused decay. I know--ick. The procedure would have been done much sooner had someone been willing to work with me monetary wise. Anyhow, the extraction took about 10 mins tops. I was given 4 shots of novocaine and then sutured afterward. I was told the area was infected and given warning of sinus perforation.  I have a high threshold for pain, so this was nothing. Was sent home with percocet and another antibiotic. Stuck to all the rules of eating, straws and rinsing even past the sutures falling out a week later. Had a follow up and surgeon said the area looked good. I felt good. That changed last weekend when I came down with a sinus infection. I would have thought it nohing except there was a lump on the site. Made an appt to see someone asap. Dentist (not surgeon) said there was a tiny hole and when I asked for antibiotic, he claimed it unnecessary. Got second opinion from surgeon next day. It was a sinus communication. Said the hole should close on its own, but if it doesnt---he'll patch it up. I complained of lightheaded dizziness nausea, exhaustion, a weird taste in my mouth and all the symptoms of the sinus infection. Which I had spoken of to the dentist. Surgeon gave me ciprofloaxin. This intensifies my nausea and lightheadedness. Yay. I havent blown my nose or used a straw. Feel like hell. And now..the extraction site has begun throbbing. Today its sore and in pain. Is it infected..again? I'm on my third round of antibiotics. What gives?

If its a small communcation, it needs time to heal on its own to close up.  Once it closes up, the sinus membrane will also begin to heal.  The antibiotics should help with the prevention of an infection.  Did the prescribe a nasal decongestant?  That may help.

They could potentially try to close it up now if its giving you problems also.
