Vaporized Marijuana and Dental Surgury

by McBobby, Aug 09, 2005 12:00AM
Hello. I am to recive a bone graft and some implants to my upper jaw bone in september and I was told I would have to quit smoking while it was healing. I don't smoke cigarettes but I have been a regular marijuana smoker for 35 years. What I am wondering is if using a quality vaporizer for marijuana is a safe alternative during this time (since there is no smoke)? Also, how much is the risk of not healing properly decreased by using a vaporizer?  Thank you very much for your time.

I do not know the effect a vaporizer would have on the healing process for the graft and implants. I do believe that you are increasing the percentage failure rate for these procedures.
