Weight Loss Possibility

I have not been a good steward of my teeth. I was diagnosed with an advanced case of gum disease and I need the following question answer. I have experienced serious weight loss (25-30lbs) since the beginning of the year after the diagnosis. I want to know if it is remotely possible that my teeth/gum condition has contributed to this? I currently need extractions done and have. I'm scared to death that I might have cancer.(Bone, blood, etc) PLEASE ADVISE..

While its possible that a poor diet and the inability to eat properly may cause problems with weight maintenance due to nutrition problems, it would seem odd that it would occur so rapidly.  I would go back to your primary MD for another referral to another specialist.  I would also post this question in the other boards to see if you can potentially find an answer.  I would try Undiagnosed Symptoms or Thyroid Cancer, Nodules & Hyperthyroidism

I have taken a physical and had blood work done. A sigmoidoscopy , glucose, thyroid, aids/Hiv, T-cell test  were done and still no answers. My body is getting frail (loss muscular mass), my skin is changing, gums still bleed (still need extractions) and again I'm scared to death. I've gone from a 38 waist to 30. I can't wear any of my clothes anymore. Please help me. I need answers from the dental community. I'm really concerned at this point. Please HELP!!! I'm ready to talk with anyone that can help.
