What is required for removal of molars stuck in the bone?

by sarie_jonas, Oct 22, 2009 06:09PM
On the top of my mouth my 12 year molars have not grown in (and I'm 14), while I was at the dentist they did an x-ray which showed that there are no roots attached to the teeth and they are stuck in the bone so they will never come throug. I was just wondering what will the doctors have to do to remove them? eg. surgery.. etc. I have another appointment in two weeks today but I really would like to know a.s.a.p. about what will have to happen to remove them.
Please and thank you (:

Well, not to scare you but they'll either put you to sleep or numb the area at least and remove the teeth if that's their intention.  What they will do is open up the gums and remove the teeth out and then suture you back up, place you on antibiotics and pain medications and probably bring you back in a week or two to check up on you to see how you are doing.
