What is with my gum!?

by TheStaces, Jun 14, 2008 08:30AM
Okay so the only thing that could have led to this is that I ate a hot openfaced sandwich on toasted rye bread and bit into it the wrong way.  This was about 3 days ago.

The pain is coming from the bottom teeth just at the side where that pocket is between your cheek and gum it's about 2 or 3 teeth over from the front teeth.  The gums are red and raw, puffed out a bit and stingy.  It's sore almost like pizza burn but there is no puss or infection, gums bleed a little when I use floss but there is no tooth pain.  It also feels wierd when I touch my tounge to that pocket of skin that is right beside the teeth.

Did I burn it?  Is it suppose to take long to heal?  I just feel like there has been no improvement in the pain since I got it but then again I keep irritating it with the poking and touching.

Seeing a periodontist is advised.
