White bumps/ patces on back of tounge

Hi there. I had a very bad sore throat about 3 weeks ago that lasted for about a week. I was told by me doctor it was strep although the culture came back negative she prescribed me antibiotics anyways. When it still wasn't getting  better I went back to another doctor who told me I didn't have strep it was just a sore throat and told me to stop my antibiotics. He also tested for ono and that was negative too. (no runny nose, just achey (achy)) It persisited for a little bit then seemed to go away. I was so paranoid from reading the internet and signs of diseases associated with a sore throat. I got tested for every STD and was tested for HIV and HERPES twice ALL were negative.

It's been about a week and a half later and my sore throat (scratchy, dry, feeling) came back, I had my tonsils removed when I was five, but I still have a little dangly thing my boyfriend said there were red bumps on it, and the very back of my tounge has white bumps, and I feel like I have something in my throat, and I did have a horrible headache one night. I thought maybe it could be oral thrush, but I don't have any patches on my cheeks or other parts of my tounge. I can feel a few of the bumps on my tounge and in thoat, it doesn't hurt so much during the day it is just uncomfortable, but sometimes at night it will hurt. I do have a few cold symptoms this time and feel a bit of sinus pressure, but no runny nose. I have another doctors appointment tomorrow and will mention thrush, but I am tired of getting different answers from every doctor. Anyone have any ideas?

If ENTs can not establish a definite diagnosis, try neurologist or manual therapist. Dental professionals are not likely to help.
