White coating on tongue

White coating on tongue

Recently I had strep throat, during that time I also had a coating of white over my tongue.  It covered just about my full tongue, from the bottom to the tip and looked like a plaque.

When I search its causes I often come across thursh, which seems to be a fairly serious indicator of disease in adults, are there other causes for this?

Also, during this time i was taking antibiotics and the white plauqe began to retreat, I have heard that if it is thrush it would have probably gotten worse.  Thanks for your help.

As you probably know thrush is a yeast infection.from your explanation it is possible that was thrush but it would not improve from the antibiotic therapy.I do not think it is serious but if it persists I would consult an oral surgeon.
