Can anyone please tell me what type of infection I have in my mouth. I have a pictured posted on my profile. My problem is I have had a white coating on my tongueTongue tie for a while like 4-5 months with no signs of it going away. So far, I have had an oral swab tested for yeast infection and it was negative. The inside of my cheeks seem to have a white coating and the back of my throatCancer - throat or larynx Throat swab culture looks awful as well. My tonsils look like they shrank and stuck to the sides of my throatCancer - throat or larynx Throat swab culture. I would appreciate any insight on what this may be. I sometimes have very dry mouth , moderate sore throatCancer - throat or larynx Throat swab culture symptoms. Thanks
Thats what mine looks exactly like. Ive had it 2 months. White coating on tongueTongue tie and throat appears red a little bit. Painless and isnt chunky and doesnt bleed like thrush does. The doc presecribed me antifungal based on sight and it didnt do anything, so its not yeast.
Have you had any other tests done? I am eager to hear what you find out.
Hey I talked to a family member today that works in the dental field about the white tongue earlier and she said that she used to get the white tongue too and what works to get it off is an electric tootbrush, which I thought was strange and probably BS. But anyway I went to Walmart and bought a $12 electric tootbrush and brushed the tongue with it and it worked really good, my tongue hasnt been so pink in months. I have no idea why the electric toothbrush is able to get rid of it better than the regular ones but it seems to work really good, my tongue looks so much better now. It muct have something to do with the vibrating and rotating bristles or something. I suggest trying it out.
The only test that comes to mind is a thrush swab. But, it came back negative. I am curious to see if the electric brush works. I will post the results once I know. Every doctor I have seen so far has said its nothing to worry about. I don't agree with them because my throat never looked like that in the begining so why is it okay. Its been nearly 7-8 months and this thing hasnt gone away. I have been dieting myself on anti-oxidants like, garlic, onions, etc, to help but it not really helping in any particular way.
