Will my regular dentist remove my root canal?

The dental crown my dentist put in ( two years old ) fell out for the FOURTH time last night ( in a six months span ) while eating. For that reason, and a few others I'd like this remaining tooth removed and also the root canal. I can't keep going to the dentist once a months for adjustments, it's really annoying. This crown refuses to stay in my mouth. he has adjusted it several times, but gives no real reason why this keeps happening. basically, it's my mouth and I want it all removed.

Do I have to see a special dentist or will mine do this procedure? Is it risky oral surgery?? Thanks.

No, your  dentist should be able to remove the tooth and the root with it. That's the proper way to remove a tooth.  I wouldn't be too hasty to remove a good tooth though even though the crown keeps falling off.  You may want to seek a second opinion and try to keep the tooth.  I look at it this way, if you had a problem with your finger and it annoying you, you still wouldn't want to cut it off just so you don't have to deal with it.  Your tooth is still a body part, try to keep it instead of cutting/taking it out.
