Wisdom Teeth

by b_rose85, Jun 29, 2009 01:05PM
I had my wisdom teeth out about 10 days ago and I am having a constatnt annoying pain in my cheek bones and in my jaw. The over the counter pain meds I am taking only dull the pain and I have to take vicodin to help me sleep. Is this normal or is it something I should be concerned about.

It depends on how complicated the extractions were to perform.  You may want to call your dentist/oral surgeon to let them know.  They may want to see the area and possibly flush it out or clean it.  It may be a simple case of food being stuck in the socket.  Also, try to gently rinse the area and see if you can dislodge any food particles in there.  Don't be too aggressive though.
