Wisdom tooth extraction aftermath...

Wisdom tooth extraction aftermath...

I went in 4 days ago to have a wisdom tooth that had been bothering me (and was all the way out) removed.  I went into the oral surgeon, and he stated that upon looking at my x-rays, that there my my bottom wisdom tooth that had just broken through that was coming in pushing toward my other teeth.  He said we should take that one out too.  I was not sedated and he yanked both out.  I was numbed very well and didn't feel anything.  I was given a script for Tylenol w Codeine, motrin, and an antibiotic.  By the time I got home from the pharmacy I was in tears.  I read the instructions and followed them.  I iced my face, took the meds, and tried to stay hydrated.  Here's the problem.  After 4 days now, the wisdom tooth that was not all the was out  (or that area) is now EXTREMELY swollen and my face is hard and warm to the touch.  The swelling seems to be going down to my throat.  I can barely open my mouth, and finally got mashed potatoes down yesterday, and it's hard to swallow.  It feels as if the stitches did not stay in, because I can feel a bunch of it on top of the extraction site.  I am running a temp of 101...
I had to call the dentist the day after to prescribe my stronger pain meds.  What am I dealing with?  What do I have?
