allergic reaction to essix plastic mouth retainers

by delta dawn, Mar 23, 2007 12:00AM

Is it possible that someone could be allergic to a plastic
retainer?

If so what would their symptons be?
Is this common and what materials are used in the making of these retainers?

What about the minty mold that you have to bite in for an
impression?

i know a young teenager who feels lightheaded every time they wear their plastic retainer. this has caused problems with anxiety and panic.  is this possible or is the anxiety causing the problem. is there any possilbe link with the plastic causing this? they also have some minor mouth itching when eating bananas.
