amoxicillin distinguishes sensitive teeth and kills cavity virus ???

by is4176, May 06, 2008 11:14AM
I have 4 fillings on the teeth and they are very sensitive. I think all of them are sensitive but can't distinguish that for sure. Previous dentist said that I need to do root canal, so I went for an appointment but could not go to the same one and had to go to a new dentist in same clinic. The second dentist didn't want to do root canal that day and prescribed me to take amoxicillin 500 mg 3 times a day for a week - she explained it that this way I will be able to distinguish which teeth are hurting. Is it actually possible ???
Also she said that because it started with cavity, I have had a bacteria that has been eating teeth roots, and that amoxicillin will kill this bacteria. She said, that this way, teeth might stop being sensitive and that I might not even need to do root canal at all.

Sounds strange - is there any truth in her words ???

Three weeks later I had a stomach infection nothing related to the tooth I was told and I was given amoxicillin again for a week. A week later after my blood and stool results can out I was diagnosed with h pylori infection and I was on triple antibiotic therapy and amoxicillin was also again one of the three antibiotics. I finished my course last week but I have got some very strange side effects from amoxicillin one of the is a very dry mouth and then I developed a white tongue that when a way alone about a week later without any antibiotic or treatment.
