anesthesia and stop breathing

anesthesia and stop breathing

I just had my wisdom teeth removed last thursday.  I was supposed to be completly asleep during it - this was the first time I have ever had anesthesia.  During the procedure I remember parts of it and I remember the dr. telling me to breath.  Afterwards he spoke with me and my husband and said that I was a tough one when it comes to anesthesia.  Apparently he said that I stopped breathing during the procedure and they had to decrease the anesthesia and telll me to breath every so often.  Has this ever happened to anyone else?  My dr. said to make sure that if I ever have to have anesthesia again that I make sure to tell the Dr. so they can take precautions and make sure not to give me the anesthesia too fast or give me too much.

Scary! Good thing you had a vigilant oral surgeon. You should repost your question in the anesthesiology section.
