baby molar growing through sideways

My 14 month old baby seems to be growing in through the side of his gum. Should I be concerned? Will it correct itself or should I consult a pediatric dentist? Could this possibly affect the way his permanent teeth com in?

I agree that probably nothing would be done at this point.  Often teeth erupt and then they are pushed into the correct position by the tongue and lips.  I also agree that a visit to the pediatric dentist would be a good idea.

Best,

Dave

There probably isn't a whole lot that can be done at this stage.  Have you taken your child to a pediatric dentist yet?  Its recommended that at one year of age to see your dentist.

Here's a quick link to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
