braces

braces

My son just turned 10 and still has two baby teeth on top and two on the bottom and a few that havent come in yet.

I had a consultation with the orthodontist.  He is saying there is no room for the canine tooth to come in.

is it okay to put braces before all permanent teeth are in.  when the rest of baby teeth come out wont they make room for the other permanant teeth.

I guess I just needed an opinion that it is normal to put braces while not all permanent teeth are in.
Thankyou

It depends on the situation.  If there isn't enough room for the adult canines to come in, the more room you make now, the more likely they'll come out straighter and the less orthodontic treatment he'll need later.  If there isn't any room, its possible they may get stuck up there.
