bridge versus implant

by will2766, Nov 05, 2009 01:44PM
I'm 43. I was 'happy-slapped' 6yrs ago, which knocked out a single front tooth, and broke the lower half of the very front tooth next to it. Until now, a crown has worked, despite a root fracture. Now it needs replacing, and another crown is not an option. Cost is of massive importance, but so is my smile. I am led to believe that a denture will keep dropping out, therefore I need to know which is the cheaper option-a bridge or an single implant(I suspect a bridge), and would the cheaper option be ultimately a worse choice? Thanks in advance.

A dental implant is probably a better option for cosmetic purposes as well as for oral hygiene.  You may want to discuss your case with your dentist and you can always seek a second or third opinion on your particular situation.  Its hard for me to say as well as there are other factors to consider such as the gum health, the health of the teeth next to it, your smile line, etc.
