can all this be caused by a tooth infection?

2 1/2 months ago I started feeling like the lymph nodes in my neck were swollen and was having trouble swallowing. went to the ER and they did blood tests and said I didn't have any bacterial infection. Prescribed me Cephalexin (just in case, I geuss) I took it for six days and felt better for about a week. Then I developed a lump in the front of my neck that made it impossibe to eat and was very painful. Went to the doctor and was diagnosed with thyroiditis. they prescribed me Ibuprofen 800mg. which i took for about 3 weeks till the swelling in my thyroid went down. but i was still feeling a weird popping (somewhat painful) feeling in the side of my neck. Also the gum around my wisdom tooth on the same side started to hurt and I have a tooth on the top on the same side that lost its filling about 7 months ago and has since turned black but never hurt. I went to the dentist three days ago and she prescribed me penicillin vk and flagyl and i will be having the two teeth pulled in the next two weeks. the weird popping and pain on the side of my neck went away  after i took about three doses of the new antibiotics, but it feels like the thyroiditis is coming back. My question is could the tooth/teeth have been infected the whole time and have been the cause of the thyroiditis even though i had no pain in them to begin with? and why would the thyroid problem be coming back since i am on the antibiotics? Also i am getting a sharp pain in my chest from time to time. i am worried i have a bad infection that has spread. is this possible? sorry this is so long -just wanted to give all the details.ps- I am usually  very healthy-hardly ever even get a cold or anything. I am only 34 years old and am starting to feel like i am 90 with all this ilness lately. i would appreciate any input. thank you

Its possible that the antibiotics aren't effective.  Different bacteria responds to different types of antibiotics and it may be not effective.  I would go back to your dentist to get another prescription and definitely get those teeth taken care of.  I'm not aware of dental infections causing thyroiditis but it can definitely travel down in the neck and chest region and cause problems there.  If you are not improving or if it becomes very difficult to swallow or breathe, I would recommend going to the ER immediately.
