can dry mouth affect your tonsils or cause the back of your throat to be red?

If you have typical dry mouth that is due to things like anxiety or stress, can it make the back of your throat feel sort of scratchy or cause the back of your throat to become red? Also can stress or dry mouth lead to oral infections?

Dry mouth can cause some problems . Most notably is an increase in the incidence of tooth decay and an increase of inflammation of the gingival tissues.(gums) Stress plays a big part in many maladies much of which that can't be proven. See an ENT doctor to check out your throat.
