chronic sinus infections

My husband has been sick with sinus infections, fevers and over all body aches for 5 months.  He has been on anibiotics 4 times (first three was Avalox and now Amoxicillan).  It doesn't seem to want to clear up. He has had a chronic cough that keeps him up at night and has had x-rays of the chest which were clear.  It just occured to us that a tooth that has been bothering him for about a year and a half may be related.  A year ago he went to a dentist about this tooth and was told that he would need a root canal but this dentist would not do this one because there were three exceptionally large roots attached to this tooth and that she would recommend another dentist to do this root canal.  My husband has put it off and now with all of his recent, on going illness, we are wondering if this tooth and his chronic sinus infections are related.  The tooth in question has had repeated fillings and a crown is currently in place. Any feedback would be appreciated. I would love to get my healthy husband back.

I thank you for your feed back.  My husband is a healthy man over all.  He does not have high blood pressure.  The only medication he takes is Famotidine  for his stomach which produces too much acid.  He has taken one pill a day for years.  He saw an oral surgeon yesterday and it is not his tooth that is causing his issue, although it needs to be tended to. The oral surgeon also suggested that he see an ENT.  Thank you for taking the time

I would think that maybe infection from this tooth would be causing his problems, but after that much antibiotics, nothing could survive. If your husband is on medication for high blood pressure this can cause a chronic cough, especially at night.  If your husband has not seen an ENT, he should.  I know I'm of no help, but this a tough one.
