i had a root canal and crown fitted to a tooth on the lower jaw last year. Since christmas i have been to the dentist 12 times with tooth problems mainly uncomfortable gums and a dull ache which feels like it is coming form the crown are or the tooth next to it. My dentist is becoming frustated as am i as she can not find anything wrong. Xrays are apparent revealing a near perfectPerfect choice root canal and no cavities are shown in the adjacent tooth. The dentist is lost and so am i can you offer any advice. Many thanks
if its a back tooth....pull it.... or find another dentist and get a second opinion......you might have a crooked root which caused some nerveNerve biopsy Nerve conduction velocity ending to still be in there causing you pain.... it will probably only get worse, and pain in the mouth is the worst!!!....
see a specialist, Prosthodontist, it is probably your best bet. I got on here and this is what I was advised to do.
I seen a specialist who figured out what my problem was. For 4 months straight my general dentist could not find anything wrong. Actually 7, but.......
I am still in discomfort from hyperHyper-sal occlusion. It is healing but not quite there yet. I don't know if this is your problem, but.......... who would have ever thought a crown being too high and not adjusted right could cause so much pain.
