crown or onlay

hello everybody,
I'm Italian and I live in new york now.
I went to the dentist and he made rct on my molar, he wanted to do crown but yesterday he told me ...why we don't do ONLAY? at the same price. so RCT + POST+ CROWN  at the same price of RCT+ONLAY.
It's the truth??onlay is more expensive that the post+crown?? the price is 1000$. and the broken  thoot is a little part.

You might need to call around to get the pricing of the treatment.  But generally, I would say a post and crown would be more expensive than an onlay.
