thanks again for your input,
"According to your treatment plan, your dental work will proceed in a defined sequence, so that the end result will be exactly what you desire. The finished product will be a comfortable bite and a beautiful smile."
This is taken verbatim from his website. Call him on this! The end result is NOT exactly what you desire, and the finished product is NOT a comfortable bite!!!! Tell him you are NOT satisfied and weren't from the beginning!! He needs to fix it the way you want it. You have already paid for his services and should not be charged any additional fees if he stands by his advertisement!
you make some good points about the cap moving and he is trying to say it is me grinding my teeth. I know it isn't it is when I eat that is causing it to move. Thanks for your information, I will do this. I have an appt to go back on Tuesday 7am to talk with him about this tooth and see what he thinks is going on with it. They have a sight, if you have time which I know alot of us don't, inculding me. His name is Dr. Bertolini in North Canton, Ohio I didn't think the cap was put on right when it kept irritating my gums and feeling like it was pushing down on them and then fell down Dec 6th into my gums further. It could not have been on right if it was still trying to push itself down further after 6 months. I could imagine all the food that is under there if this is what is happeing.
I do floss though, but that isn't going to help the food that is already under there since it fell December 6th further down into my gums.
thanks for your input, this also helps quite a bit.
If your crown is moving chances are you are getting food particles and bacteria up and around the margins. Eventually you will begin to have decay on the tooth underneath. If you sign a release of medical record form, they must let you at least LOOK at your records. Some offices can charge a fee to COPY them, but by law they are required to release information you request. Also, get a copy of all the consents you signed and review the billing. See if anywhere it states that you will be charged for realignment of the crown, or if it is all inclusive. You could even have a friend call the office and ask them about their fees. Have her say she needs a crown and is trying to find the best rate. Have her ask if they will charge additional if the crown comes off, or needs adjusting. Definitely find yourself another dentist to do it the right way. Otherwise it will fail and you'll end up toothless or needing an implant.
Now the cap moved again today while I am at work 6 months later. Now come on, should this cap be moving 6 months later? They need to fix it or get me a new cap.
It could be the cheap cement or something he used to adhere it to so it would stay on now I am guessing. No pain in sides of gums now, tooth just keeps moving back and forth creating a gap on my one side between my teeth. I'm am not a happy camper.
After I call them and resolve issue, I will let you know the very end result. thanks
Yes, I think when they make a crown or cap for a patient it should be done right with masterful skill. But what company or lab cares anymore about what they do or how the patient feels about the cap made?
Like they really care about the patient. This cap is huge, not contoured right like you stated. This cap fell further down into my gums when I ate something again and today at this point it is not jabbing the skin of the gums anymore, it is a little sore, but not irritating them. Why didn't the dentist not know he set the cap too high or something? I cannot understand how a dentist can put a patient's cap on and not know it is not right by what the patient is describing. I agree I need to see an occulsionist and will eventually.
Why do dental practices walk around questions that are asked about the law? I guess that is why we have a government site we can go to and a Dental Board.
I will be reporting the practice to The Dental Board in my State, when I write the letter as to why I am dropping him as my dentist. I still owe on my bill, and instead of giving him $250.00 a month, he is going to be receiving $25.00 a month now.
thanks for your time, but we all know dentists stick together.
At first he saw one of my other caps and had told me who ever the dentist was that put on my other caps did not do it properly, the first time I came to him he spoke about another dentist how bad he had put the cap on that had fallen off and this is why I was coming to him in the first place from the beginning back in 2005.
He now has done the same thing as the other dentist did to me, the cap is huge and ill fitting like you stated. I'm glad you agree with me on that one.
Have a good day and thank for your answer.

In dentistry, the substructure metal coping material used for porcelain fused to metal is classified as base , semiprecious and noble metal, mainly based on gold content. Cilicians are generally not aware the exact component of each alloy. However, if a patient should request the information of a restorative material, I would get from my lab and dispense to the patient. It never happened in my practice for the past 20+ years practice.
Gum problem after crown delivery is generally caused by ill-fitting margin and overcontoured crown. Allergic reaction is highly unlikely. Seeing a periodontist will reveal the cause of gum problem.
The bite from a lab is almost always different from that of in the mouth. Therefore, occlusal adjustment in the mouth is always needed. Detection of occlusal interference of a new restoration requires masterful skill. Seeing an occlusionist or prosthodontist is advised.
