crowned tooth

crowned tooth

I have had a back molar crowned two years ago.  Recently I had a fairly heavy cold starting with a sore throat.  The cold just wouldn't clear up.  Since it has now, I found I am still waking up with a sore throat on one side (I have no tonsils), and the gland under my jaw on the same side has been sore with some shooting pains.  The crowned tooth is an anchor tooth for a partial plate and I had developed a reddened area under the crown tooth side of the plate.  I left the plate out for a couple of days and it did become less sensitive.  However the gland and the shooting pain has increased, and also I am finding that my vision is a little blurry.  Are these symptoms related?  could they be left over from my cold?  Or could my crown be infected?

Its possible but I'm not sure how likely it is.  If you go to your regular care physician to get it checked out and it doesn't resolve the problem, I would then go to a dentist.  If the symptoms progressively get worse and you get an oral symptom such as swelling in the mouth, then you should immediately go to a dentist for care.

Hi!

Maybe the crown, which is actually the anchor for the plate, has been pushed, damaged etc.. Can this be the case? Would you have a panoramic x-ray, do it like my aunt: she went to hungary, to the empireclinic after having sent her x-ray and getting the quotation which was very favourable. Furthermore she also got an excellent work done, they could possibly help you as well, just mail them!
